How do I …
Start Bluetooth Manager
- Tap Start
> Settings.
- Tap the Connections tab.
- Tap Wireless Manager.
- Tap Menu > Bluetooth Settings. (If Bluetooth is currently off, you will be prompted to turn it on. Tap Yes to do so.)
Use a hands-free headset for phone calls
- Start Bluetooth Manager
.
- Tap the My Devices tab.
- Make sure the headset is discoverable, then tap Add.
- In the device list, select Audio Devices , then tap Continue.
- When you see your headset displayed, tap the headset, then tap Select.
- When you see the green checkmark
displayed next to the headset, tap Continue.
When you see
displayed
next to the headset, the headset is ready to use for hands-free phone calls.

Use wireless stereo headphones
- Start Bluetooth Manager

Add/delete a device
Check the battery level of my hands-free headset or stereo headphones
- Start Bluetooth Manager
.
- Connect your hands-free headset or stereo headphones (
is displayed when you are connected).
- Tap Bluetooth Hands-free > Menu > Status.
The battery level is indicated by the battery icon that is
displayed under the Sent/Rcvd status indication.
Note
Not all Bluetooth hands-free headsets or stereo headphones have this capability.

Add/delete a device
Turn on/turn off Bluetooth
You must turn Bluetooth on before you can connect to other Bluetooth
devices. At other times, such as when you are on board an airplane
or in a location in which Bluetooth operation is not allowed,
you can turn off Bluetooth.
- Tap Start
> Settings.
- Tap the Connections tab.
- Tap Wireless Manager..
- Tapping Bluetooth will toggle Bluetooth on or off.
Find out which devices I am connected to
- Start Bluetooth Manager.
The devices you are connected to are listed
on the My Devices tab.

Connect to the Internet with my PC through my phone
If you want to use your PC to connect to the Internet, but are not
within range of a Wi-Fi hotspot or do not want to pay an access fee,
you can connect to the Internet through your phone.
Method 1: Use the Dial-up Networking (DUN) service
From your PC
- Connect to the DUN service provided by your phone.
- If your mobile service carrier requires you to supply your
username and password, type them in the spaces provided,
then in the Dial text box, type the
carrier-specified dial string (for example, *99#).
- Click Dial.
Note
With this method, only one PC can use the phone to connect to the Internet.
Method 2: Use the Network Access service
Your PC must be Bluetooth enabled, your PC must be on, and you must be logged on.
From your phone
- Start Bluetooth Manager
.
- Tap the Accessories tab, select Networking Manager, then tap Launch.
- Select Share Internet connection, then tap Continue.
- Select the PC you want to use, then tap Select.
- Select the appropriate data connection type in the
Network Connection list, then tap
Continue.
At this point, additional PCs can also connect to the Network Access
service provided by your phone.
Note
With this method, up to seven client PCs can use the phone to connect to the Internet.
Method 3: The Internet Sharing application
The Internet Sharing application allows you to share your phones
Internet connection via a USB cable or via Bluetooth.
- Ensure that your data connection is running, and that you
can access the Internet from the phone.
- Tap Start
> Programs > Internet Sharing.
- Select the PC connection type (USB or Bluetooth).
- Select the network connection that the phone should use to connect to the Internet.
- Tap Connect.
Note
If your connection type is Bluetooth, you may be prompted to turn on Bluetooth, tap Yes.

- Start Bluetooth Manager

- Tap the Settings tab, then double-tap Not Discoverable.
- Select Always Visible or Visible for 2 minutes, then tap Done.

Add/delete a device
To add a device
- Start Bluetooth Manager
.
- Tap the Settings tab, then double-tap Add a device.
- Select the type of device.
- Make sure the device is discoverable, then tap Continue.
- Tap the name of the device, then tap Select.
- Follow the onscreen instructions, if any, for pairing/connecting with the device.
Note
If the device you are adding offers multiple services, select (double-tap)
the services you want to use. For example, if you are connecting to a PC, you can:
- Connect to a wireless serial port (ActiveSync).
- Use the PC with a headset or car kit for hands-free operation (Headset).
- Listen to stereo music on the PC (Stereo Audio).
- Synchronize contacts and other PIM items (PIM Synchronization).
- Share information or connect to the Internet (Bluetooth Networking)
- Transfer files to and from the PC (File Transfer).
To delete a device
- Start Bluetooth Manager

- Tap the My Devices tab, tap the name of the device, then tap Menu > Delete.

Set up to use a wireless keyboard
- Start Bluetooth Manager

- Tap the Settings tab, then double-tap Add a device.
- In the device list, select Keyboards.
- Make sure the keyboard is discoverable, then tap Continue.
- When you see the keyboard image displayed, tap the keyboard image, then tap Select.
- On the keyboard, type the displayed passkey, then press ENTER.
- When you see the green check mark
displayed next to the keyboard image, tap Continue.
You can now use your wireless keyboard to enter
data in any text box and to move from text box to text box.

Add/delete a device
Send files and PIM items to another device
You can send various types of files via Bluetooth to other Bluetooth
devices, such as as computers, mobile phones, and PDAs. For example,
you can send the following types of files and PIM items to a PC:
- Outlook e-mail
- Contacts
- Tasks
- Voice notes
- Calendar items
- Audio
- Ring tones
- Images
- Videos
To send files and PIM items to another device:
- Start Bluetooth Manager
.
- Tap the Accessories tab, then tap BT Send Object
> Launch.
- Tap the Left Arrow
or Right Arrow
to change to the type of file you want to send.
- Double-tap the names of the files.
- When the green check mark
is displayed next to the filenames, tap Send.
- Tap the name of the device you want to send the files to, then tap Select.
Note
Depending on the how security settings have been configured on the
destination device, passkeys might need to be exchanged before a
file can be sent. If you are so notified, you must authorize access
on the destination device.

Add/delete a device
Play an audio file sent from another device
- Tap
> File Explorer.
- Navigate to My Documents, then tap My Music.
- Tap the audio file you want to play.
View a picture/play a video sent from another device
- Tap
> File Explorer.
- Navigate to My Documents, then tap My Pictures.
- Tap the picture/video you want to view/play.
Specify where received files are stored
- Start Bluetooth Manager
.
- Tap the Settings tab, then double-tap Advanced
to expand the menu.
- Double-tap File Transfer.
- Tap Browse, tap the name of the folder where you want to store received files, then tap Select.
Note
You can select different locations for storing different types of
files. Before you transfer files to your phone, select the folder
where you want that type of file to be stored.

Sync my contacts and calendar with another device
- Start Bluetooth Manager

- Tap the My Devices tab, select the device you want to sync with, then tap Menu > Update.
- Tap the PIM Synchronization
service, then tap Continue after the green check mark
is displayed in the check box.
- Tap Synchronization
, then tap Connect.
