The director bought an X1 in Sweden for himself and another executive on Friday. I returned to Moscow and now I need to flash these devices with English Windows. The director, okay, is a Swede himself and can work with Windows installed on the device (the language is Swedish), but the second boss speaks only English. Does anyone know where I can download the original firmware for the device? Thank you! |

SDK update 1.0.4 includes support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and the Windows Vista operating system. In addition, a number of new features have been added to the device emulator (Xperia X1 Device Emulator), which allows you to test applications for the Xperia X1 without the communicator itself. And finally, the accompanying documentation, guides with information on getting started with the SDK, etc. have been updated. You can download the new version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 SDK here . -------------------- Deputy head physician and director of the theater Chamber No. 6 Silver medalist of the w3bsit3-dns.com Award in the category “Helmsman 2009” |

You press the X1 shutdown button until a message appears about the possible loss of files and agree. The device turns off. You turn it on and X1 boots again, as if you had poked a button under the lid. |

There is a discussion of this process here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446691 . There is a ready-made recipe, for example, in post #8 from user fards. Maybe someone will translate it for us and write a short fact on how to extract the firmware from the device. And also, it would be nice to write a short fact about Hard-SPL, so that it would be possible to flash the body with different firmware. then besdna, wedi I dug around our forum and found instructions on how to dump the firmware. PPC FAQ post number 63 is described here , where you can also download utilities and get QUALIFIED help, all in Russian. Now it's up to you, we're waiting for the Russian firmware Post has been editedsiem_1 - 12.12.08, 16:30 |

![]() Visitor ![]() ![]() [offline] Group: Active Posts: 28 Registration: 12/10/08 Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Reputation: 5 ![]() | Instructions for flashing Hard-SPL: It is recommended to flash the main version of the firmware, and not try to flash other versions. (MFG SPL - only for hackers) 0a) Make sure that Microsoft No Framework is installed on your computer, if not, then download it from the following link : Here 0b) If you have Vista installed, then download and install the update for Windows Mobile Device Center: Here 1) Download the HardSPL archive from the attached files, and unpack it into any empty folder. 2) We recommend downloading only X1_HardSPL_v1.zip, unless of course you want to update the bootloader to MFG SPL (MFG SPL 0.52 - separately attached to the message) 3) Your phone must be synchronized with your computer in Windows Mobile 4) Run X1_HardSPL.exe (if you want to flash MFG SPL: at this stage replace the unpacked RUU_Signed.nbh with the file RUU_Signed.nbh from the MFG version) 5) Follow the instructions in RUU, and after the download status appears on the BB, check the requests on the device . 6)After this, the phone should go to a three-color screen and write: 0.72.OliNex (or 52.OliNex MFG). 7) Hard-SPL is installed, after that the device will reboot, basically everything is done. 8) To make sure that the device’s firmware has been successfully flashed, go to the bootloader window and make sure that the screen says: 0.72.OliNex (or 0.52.OliNex MFG). The note: To see the version of the installed bootloader, you need to: turn off the phone, press the volume down button, and while holding it, press the phone's power button, hold them until a three-color screen appears, the bootloader version will be written there. During a standard phone boot, you will not see the bootloader version. Note 2 : If you have a problem with the phone automatically switching to bootloader mode (the phone does not go into a three-color screen) when flashing Hard-SPL: Copy the Xperia-SSPL-Manual.exe file from the Xperia-SSPL-Manual.zip archive to your phone, and run this file on the phone itself. As soon as the phone goes to the bootloader screen (the three-color screen will write bootloader version 0.52.OliNex), run ROMUpdateUtility.exe (one of the HardSPL archive files) immediately on your personal computer. Note from me: for the first time it’s easier to unpack the X1_HardSPL_v1.zip archive into a folder, run X1_HardSPL.exe without killing this program and without pressing any buttons in it, copy the resulting files to another folder, because if you terminate X1_HardSPL.exe, the unpacked files will be automatically deleted, and you don’t need this, since one of these files will be the required one to you ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Note 3: This is not a signed Hard-SPL (more simply, a bootloader), which removes protection from the phone’s firmware, which means the warranty is lost. If you need to restore the original bootloader because your phone is being repaired, you can download the original bootloader below. Note 4 : Do not use this program to flash anything else. This program (ROMUpdateUtility.exe) is intended ONLY for flashing the bootloader firmware, not the operating system. To flash the operating system, use special flashers, for example, which is located at the following link: http://rapidshare.com/files/164933503/X1_CustomRUU.zip . ****** IMPORTANT: specific notes on XPERIA: you should not flash your phones with firmware from PRRELEASE (note: some of the phones that were received by testers and regional representatives before the official announcement) phones (on the screen of the bootloader of these devices it says “Security unlocked”), since the radio part is suitable for them only to the same PRRELEASE phones. If you still want to flash this firmware, then you will have to repack the NBH without the radio part, and this only works after rewriting the bootloader with Hard-SPL, since after repacking the NBH the digital signature is removed from the package. ****** SOLVING PROBLEMS : Read the instructions 10 times before you start doing anything. If you get a connection error in ROMUpdateUtility.exe after the device has entered bootloader mode: try connecting to another USB port, also DO NOT use USB hubs, try rebooting your computer, or try on another computer. You can also try disabling additional network features on your phone: start menu / settings / connections / usb to pc. If you have Vista and X1_HardSPL.exe does not start, try running it as an administrator, that is, right-click on the program and select “Run As Administrator” from the list. If SSPL-Manual.exe or enterbootloader.exe refuse to start (they write that some components are missing), try doing XP on the phone. ****** Additional FAQ on restoring the original bootloader in case of return under warranty . The return of the original bootloader is required only if the phone is returned for repair. If you plan to restore HardSPL later, then do not even try to write the original bootloader, unless of course you have sufficient experience for this. IMPORTANT: First you need to restore the main system, then the radio part, and only then flash the bootloader. Well, now, in order: 1) Download ruusigned_072stockspl.zip from this post. 2) Download X1_HardSPL_v1.zip. 3) Run X1_HardSPL.exe, but do not click Next. 4) Now replace the file RUU_Signed.NBH in the folder with X1_HardSPL.exe with the file from the archive ruusigned_072stockspl.zip. 5) Now continue working with the bootloader installer (or if necessary, run SSPL-Manual.exe on your phone), it will reach 100%, reboot, and you’re basically done. +1 - check the bootloader version on your phone (how to do this is written above), the bootloader should display version: 0.72.0000. ![]() Visitor ![]() ![]() [offline] Group: Active Posts: 28 Registration: 12/10/08 Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Reputation: 5 ![]() | How to Backup Your Firmware - Quick Guide. This description is for those who are too lazy to search the forum ( meaning the xda-developers forum ) and find this information themselves. This description is for the XPERIA X1 phone. This requires certain skills and knowledge of a computer and handheld devices. The author followed the steps described below and downloading the dump went perfectly, and as it turned out in the end, the dump turned out to be completely working. Special thanks to the guys from the XDA Forum from the Author, I (the translator) will omit the names. --- Step-by-step Description --- 1) Downloading the required software: Good programs make this task very easy, download the following files: XDA Tools Kovsky Kitchen UK ROM - English signed firmware Unpack Kovskykitchen toc:\Kovskykitchen, in Vista make sure that buildos+package_tools (I didn’t specifically translate - these phrases didn’t sound correct in Russian) can work with administrator rights. Note from the translator - In Vista: right-click on the application, tab compatibility, and at the very bottom check the box: Run this program as administrator. Or it’s easier to immediately disable UAC in Vista so that it doesn’t block the application in the center of the work (from personal experience at work - when flashing the BIOS on Vista, some of the laptops were sent back under warranty - since Vista simply locked the system with the application and notes in the center of the firmware process died). Disabling UAC in Vista is simple: run msconfig, Service tab, there in the list click on: Disable User Account Control, then click on the Start button, reboot the computer - and that’s it, no stupid questions will pop up. Unzip XDA Tools to some easily accessible folder, for example C:\Xdatools 2)Regedit (changing required entries in registers) Before dumping the operating system, you need to change certain registry keys: HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies "00001001" HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies "0000101a" Set in both keys: 1 ( note from the translator: by default: in the first key 2, in the second 0 ) 3)pdocread Open the command line ( in XP – Start->Run and write CMD, click OK and that’s it. In Vista it’s more reliable: Start->All Programs-> Standard -> Command Prompt - right-click on it - Run as Administrator (to remove some of the possible restrictions in Vista in advance) ) and go to the folder where you unpacked XDA Tools, namely, if you did as described above then: cd c:\Xdatools . type the following command: pdocread.exe -l On the command line you will see something like this: | 3.12M (0x31f000) Part00 | 3.50M (0x380000) Part01 | 69.38M (0x4560000) Part02 | 134.38M (0x8660000) Part03 The bits in brackets are the most important, since you will need to use the received data on YOUR device ( not those described here, but those that pdocread -l will produce ) in the next step. 4) Unpacking Run the following commands in turn. Replace the codes (like 0x31f000) with the codes YOU received in step 3. Unpacking these files will take some time, do not turn off your phone until the command line says that everything is ready. pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -b 0x800 -p Part00 0 0x31f000 Part00.raw pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -b 0x800 -p Part01 0 0x380000 Part01.raw pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -b 0x800 -p Part02 0 0x4560000 Part02. raw pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -b 0x800 -p Part03 0 0x8660000 Part03.raw These files will be saved in the folder with XDA Tools 5)Kovsky Kitchen - Open the folder in which you have unpacked Kovsky Kitchen. Copy the downloaded 4 files from the XDA Tools folder to the baserom folder located in the Kovsky Kitchen directory. From the previously downloaded archive ruu_signed.zip(UK ROM) unpack RUU_signed.nbh also into the baserom folder . Here ( again referring to XDA Forum ) there are many descriptions of how to create firmware, and this particular kitchen is based on Kaiser Kitchen. If you want to know more about it, look for "kaiser kitchen" on xda-developers.com. Run: kovskykitchen.cmd Press (e) extract a rom, then press (b) and let the application run. When the work is finished, the application will go back to the main window. Now press (C) cook a rom, then (B) . This command will launch the buildOS + Package tools program Go to the BuildOS tab Click on Load Rom and specify the path to the folder with Kovsky Kitchen . Click OK . After a few seconds the green Go button will become active, click on it. This program will do a lot, and may produce errors like: imgfs error , but this does not seem to be so important. When the program finishes, close its window. Go back to the Command Prompt window, it will wait for any button to be pressed. After you click, many files will be processed. And as a result, a window with information on HTC rom tool will appear . Click Build! . In the list under Device , select Kovsky * . Click on the Rom Builder tab three dots ... opposite the inscription OS . Select OS-NEW.nb in the main folder with Kovsky Kitchen. Click Build again ! , only now on the Rom Builder tab , give a sensitive name to the file: RUU_signed.nbh - if you want to flash from Windows, or Kovsimg.nbh - if you are going to flash from a microSD card. Close htc_rom_tool when done. A HexEditor window will open to change the Pagepool ( I couldn’t find a translation for this abbreviation ) An error may pop up - that the nbx file was not found. Close Hexeditor. The command line will clear temporary files and allow you to install your firmware. If you just wanted to make a backup copy, then close this window. Enjoy! Taken from XDA-Developers.com Translated by ALHSLeo For Johnny P - in principle, both articles in English and Russian versions could have been pinned in the first post (I mean the articles about the bootloader firmware and the dump). Local ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [offline] Group: Permanent Messages: 255 Registration: 03/01/06 Reputation: 10 ![]() | So people, a short report on the holidays. As much time as I had, I conducted experiments on body firmware. On the xda-developers website, namely here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466404 , they posted all the custom firmware, as well as original firmware from various countries; Russia, unfortunately, is not there. I hope so for now. First, I flashed the firmware cmEX in WWENGLISH thread, it turned out to be a buggy dog, when charging from the outlet the device froze, the keyboard was buggy, the drop-down menus in the programs were buggy. Switched to Touch-IT Xperience 2.2 firmware. good firmware, fast and easy, it was buggy in landscape mode, which the author of the firmware warned me about in advance, then I still had problems with the image on the screen. I upgraded to Jack's rom v. 1.4. Lite, good firmware, but empty and no panels, but I like the panels. As a result, I returned to the original English firmware, as the most stable and bug-free, and also lightweight. Then I rolled Manila on top, sometimes I use it. I reflashed it from both the card and the flasher. All firmware methods work with a bang, if you have any questions, write, I will try to answer. Post has been edited by siem_1 - 11.01.09, 17:49 |

![]() Visitor ![]() ![]() [offline] Group: Active Posts: 28 Registration: 12/10/08 Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Reputation: 5 ![]() | Spixels - strange, by default there was no checkbox for turning off the device. Siem_1 - there are no differences in the pre-installed software, everything is just translated into Russian, and nothing more. The keyboard is hardware straight away, without shamanism in the registers, it works in both Russian and English, English is set by default. But the software one: I didn’t quite like it - the default language is Russian, and you can’t set another one by default through the settings, the language switches when you click on au - and in English in this case there are no numbers, which, for example, is not very convenient for me at work, that’s why I installed a rezko keyboard on Russian Windows. Next, the quickmenu program did not work quite correctly, I had to install the English version first, and the Russian version on top. I liked that they finally added Baltic mobile operators, but it was infuriating that every time I rebooted, I had to automatically close the pop-up window for auto-configuring GPS connections, which did not include my mobile operator, and it popped up even after manual configuration. And so - in principle, everything was simply Russified to the fullest, and nothing more. I sewed it from a memory card - it’s more reliable, since you don’t depend on USB ports, and faster, since reading is done directly, without intermediaries, no problems arose, it feels like it flies faster than the original English one, but this may just seem , or they did optimize something. You don't have Vista for an hour? If it's Vista, then you MUST download "Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista" from here , install it and only then flash it. In the manual on xda-dev, the link to which was given just above by spixels, it is written about this. Let me know if it helped... Describe step by step what you did. People had similar problems if they used X1_CustomRUU to flash the ROMs themselves. It is required ONLY for Hard-SPL firmware. Developers write about this clearly and loudly on every corner, for example, a guy here has the same error.
