This description is for those who are too lazy to search the forum ( meaning the xda-developers forum ) and find this information themselves. This description is for the XPERIA X1 phone. This requires certain skills and knowledge of a computer and handheld devices. The author followed the steps described below and downloading the dump went perfectly, and as it turned out in the end, the dump turned out to be completely working. Special thanks to the guys from the XDA Forum from the Author, I (the translator) will omit the names. --- Step-by-step Description --- 1) Downloading the required software: Good programs make this task very easy, download the following files: XDA Tools Kovsky Kitchen UK ROM - English signed firmware Unpack Kovskykitchen toc:\Kovskykitchen, in Vista make sure that buildos+package_tools (I didn’t specifically translate - these phrases didn’t sound correct in Russian) can work with administrator rights. Note from the translator - In Vista: right-click on the application, tab compatibility, and at the very bottom check the box: Run this program as administrator. Or it’s easier to immediately disable UAC in Vista so that it doesn’t block the application in the center of the work (from personal experience at work - when flashing the BIOS on Vista, some of the laptops were sent back under warranty - since Vista simply locked the system with the application and notes in the center of the firmware process died). Disabling UAC in Vista is simple: run msconfig, Service tab, there in the list click on: Disable User Account Control, then click on the Start button, reboot the computer - and that’s it, no stupid questions will pop up. Here ( again referring to XDA Forum ) there are many descriptions of how to create firmware, and this particular kitchen is based on Kaiser Kitchen. If you want to know more about it, look for "kaiser kitchen" on xda-developers.com. Run: kovskykitchen.cmd Press (e) extract a rom, then press (b) and let the application run. This command will launch the buildOS + Package tools program Go to the BuildOS tab Click on Load Rom and specify the path to the folder with Kovsky Kitchen . Click OK . Next, the quickmenu program did not work quite correctly, I had to install the English version first, and the Russian version on top. I liked that they finally added Baltic mobile operators, but it was infuriating that every time I rebooted, I had to automatically close the pop-up window for auto-configuring GPS connections, which did not include my mobile operator, and it popped up even after manual configuration.
