Hi,
I'm still trying to solve the touch issue with the ST15i, after trying the various suggestions (updating to latest stock, running the calibration using cyttsp_fwloader, etc.) I'm now trying using the service calibration.

I've found instruction and software to perform the calibration, so I should:
- Flash an ETS file to the phone
- Run the calibration software (a specialized software running on the PC to drive the calibration on the connected phone with the ETS rom)
- Flash the normal firmware (in my case, the freexperia CM10).

I've found all the required software, including the ST15 ETS file and the PC calibration software, but I can't find a way to flash the ETS to the phone.. excluding using setool (which is a paid software) or EMMA (which is only available to service centres).

I tried with the setool lite, but I cannot find a version that recognize the phone.. I tried with the s1tool, it recognize it but I don't know how to use it (I press FLASH button and it asks me to select the firmware... but how??). I even tried to build a FTF file (since the ETS is just a zip of .sin files, much like an FTF file) and flashing it with Flashtool, but with no success (it started to flash but locked at 5%... I think that the .sin files in the ETF file are somehow encripted, they start with a suspect string "CrYpTv13B").

Anyone knows how can I flash an ETS file, using s1tool or in any other way?

Thank you very much

Ok, I'm pretty sure the sin files are encrypted, thanks setool guys.

I can tell because flashtool hangs with a out of memory error while trying to read the SIN header, I also found traces in forums about setool files being encrypted.

So, I think that flashtool would be perfectly capable of flashing it, if I could get an unencrypted version of the file.

I don't know exactly but maybe this could help you. SeTool should recognize your phone, if not install all drivers again.

But I don't know if it works. I'm not responsible for any damage because you followed the link!!! You do this on your own risk! The link looks dangerous, so think if you really wanna do this. Maybe it will brick phone your phone completely!

Thank you mihahn. As far as I can tell, the linked post shows images of someone using octupus to backup current firmware, and then setool to flash ETS. I'm almost sure that the latest, complete setool version is able to flash the st15, but it's not feasible to spend almost 100$ for it, in order to solve a problem for a phone that I could probably buy new for that money. I found similar versons of setool, such as setool lite, but non of them was able to identify or flash the st15.

At this point, I'm stuck, unless a find:
1) unencrypted ETS file for ST15i
2) some software able to flash the original, encrypted ETS file

Let me join your request. My problem is with xperia active (st17), but I can not even find the ETS file for ST17.
If anyone could share this file and some free software to flash it with I'd appriciate it .

download attached script, copy to sd card, rename to touchpanel_satsuma.sh, run it as su with script manager, after that, your phone will shutdown, just turn it on, and i hope your touch screen back to normal again, i tested it on stock gb room (rooted) and it worked
